We have Android and iOS apps where users access the site via webview.
We would like to track the users that come through ours apps separately (at least to be able to filter them out and compare their number with the rest).
We have added a “marker” into user-agent that is returned from our apps. The marker is added at the end of the original user-agent string, for example:
Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 13_2_3 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/13.0.3 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1 APP_NAME_HERE
Can we use this marker to track app users separately? Is yes, how? If not, how else can we achieve that?
