Wordpress not even installed but Error installing!

Hello

On installing Matomo, i get this error:

Fatal error: Declaration of Piwik\Plugins\Monolog\Handler\WebNotificationHandler::write(array $record) must be compatible with Monolog\Handler\AbstractProcessingHandler::write(array $record): void in <<pathinfo>>/public_html/matomo0704/plugins/Monolog/Handler/WebNotificationHandler.php on line 34

I browsed thru the forums and tried the following, to no avail

1. Installed the wp integration kit WP-Matomo Integration (WP-Piwik) from https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-piwik/#installation

2. Manually installed WP files after downloading from matomo.org

the thing is I don’t even have Wordpress installed!
