I’m currently working on implementing Matomo analytics on my website, and I’m trying to figure out how to track custom events using JavaScript. I’ve gone through the Matomo documentation, but I’m still a bit confused about the process.
Specifically, I want to track events like button clicks, form submissions, and other user interactions that are not automatically tracked by Matomo. I understand that I need to use the Matomo JavaScript tracking code, but I’m not sure how to set it up for custom events.
Could someone please guide me through the steps involved in tracking custom events in Matomo using JavaScript? What functions or methods should I use? Do I need to modify the Matomo tracking code or add additional code snippets?
