Visitor profile -> Last visit -> UTC, not local time

When I display the visitor profile I noticed that at some point in the day, the timezone reported in the last visit block changes from my default timezone (EST -5:00) to UTC. So far, this is the only place where I’ve noticed this inconsistency. The timestamp in the upper right hand corner, Visit #2 in the following screen print, displays correctly.

I read about this being an issue in the past.
