Setting the ignore cookie fails, apparently due to the wrong data format passed to gmdate:

Hi, I updated Matomo yesterday. on Dashboard after update Visits Overview and Channel Type and Map shows one period previous of whatever Time period I select as default. Notice I had set Today as default before the update.

Hello,
I have been following this guide in order to setup the google analytics importer. Everything went smoothly until it came to actually authorising the importer. After clicking the “Authorise” button it takes me to the Google log in page as expected. However, after logging in and getting redirected back at https://matomo.my-domain.com I get the error “Could not verify the security token on this form.”
I tried searching up this issue and I found some suggestions that this issue could just be fixed by waiting and trying again. However, I have been re-trying this all throughout the day and it is consistently failing.
This may be unrelated, but I am also getting the error “The uploaded file couldn’t be processed. Please check if the file has a valid format.” when I try to upload a custom logo or favicon.
Any help would be appreciated.

I recently migrated a website to a new domain, and now Matomo is not working anymore on my new domain. I did do some troubleshooting (build-in into the plugin) and got these two orange errors:

Our site is using the “Force tracking without cookies”, which says:
Enabling this option will automatically update matomo.js, so it contains some additional code to ensure all trackers won’t use cookies. Additionally Matomo will ignore all tracking cookies on server side.
Cookies will be disabled even when using the consent methods in Matomo tracker and calling for example the cookie consent methods won’t enable cookies.
When installing a new version of Matomo, the previous versions of matomo.js and piwik.js get overwritten by the files that ship in the downloaded tarball. I ran /var/www/matomo/console core:update, but there were no migrations.
My concern is that the help text says that enabling that feature changes the JS files, but Matomo might not know to change it again after this upgrade. Are any further steps necessary?

I am going through the post deployment checks on a Windows 2016 Server install where you check to make sure the below files are accessible…
○ /matomo.php and /piwik.php
○ /matomo.js and /piwik.js
○ /js/tracker.php
○ /js/container_*.js
○ /plugins/HeatmapSessionRecording/configs.php
The .js files are accessible but none of the .php files are working.

I get a “Duplicate entry” error in the php_errors.log at the same time my platform goes into throwing many HTTP 500 errors.
Error excerpt:

We are running Matomo version: 3.13.5; MySQL version: 5.7.29; PHP version: 7.3.23.
A few days ago we migrated our system from dedicated servers to cloud. Runs good most of the time except after this error. We are not yet doing any deletion of raw data or aggregate data.
Will doing aging on raw and/or aggregate data help this? Or do I need some SQL to fix this in some way?
I can attach full error if that would be helpful.

Email Reports from Matomo will go to GMail, Yahoo!, and AOL, but not to Outlook Live. I can only assume this is a problem with how Microsoft has their webmail service configured. Email from the Matomo Forum (forum [at] matomo [dot] org) to Outlook Live goes to Junk by default, but I did get the confirmation email for Matomo Forum.
Is there a way to configure Matomo to send reports from a custom (real) email address instead of < noreply@domainname > ? I figure that might bypass any spam blocks set up for Outlook Live.

Hi,
when I use the getBulkRequest Method with Matomo 4.1.1 and append the &callback or &jsoncallback Parameter, the array values in the response will always be null. This used to work with matomo 3.14.0

Not sure why this occurring, but as the title suggests, I am able to view real-time data of where a user is going throughout my page. However, in virtually every other tab (Visits Log, Overview) on Matomo, I receive the message “There is no data for this report.” For some context, I set this up roughly a few hours ago.

I’m curious how/when visit type is recorded as ‘returningCustomer’.
I have a site whose new and returning segments weren’t adding up to the total visits. I found out that some visits are being recorded as returningCustomer, and that seems to fill the gap. And although the site does indeed sell products, we’ve never set up the Ecommerce portion of Matomo. All Ecommerce reports/logs are zeros.

I have a new local install. It appears to be functioning correctly aside from me being unable to run the tests successfully. I installed Matomo by cloning the git repo then using the Matomo Installation Welcome Screen to walk through the installation process.

I had the thought that ‘composer install’ might help however that results in this error.

I do have phpunit already available on this machine however the test runner appears to require phpunit to exist at vendor/bin specifically. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I suspect I am probably missing something obvious.

However I can not get it to work and I am really missing some documentation here. Has anyone managed to use it there and can give me an introduction on what to do?

Hi, I’ve got Matomo configured completely headless inside a docker container that runs on AWS ECS with an AWS Application load balancer in front of it. I’m running two containers in a load balanced environment. Hopefully more some day.
I was consistently giving me errors logging in until I learned that config.ini.php were not the same. The differing line was the “salt”. So I ssh’d thru my bastion, to my ECS host, and used docker exec to get a bash prompt. Then with a bit of finagling I was able to make both salts the same. After that the errors went away, terrific.
With more reading, I learned that Matomo has a convention where you can create ENV Vars of the pattern MATOMO_$CONFIG-SECTION_$CONFIG-PARAMETER, so I was hopeful that I could create MATOMO_GENERAL_SALT with a long secret string and have the same salt on all instances.
I tried this. It didn’t set them the same. :(. Can someone help me understand what order stuff like this gets set in, and why it might not have been set?
Soo, if that doesn’t work, or isn’t supposed to work, my next option is to enable sticky sessions in the ALB listener rule which “should work” but I want to ask you folks before I go about doing that.

It seems to me that the values contained within environment variables are only used upon the initial setup, and then after that are just missed or not used. Am I correct?
Is their documentation about this somewhere?

I’m running Marino in a docker and have it setup successfully with MariaDB however it won’t launch due to something wrong with the Apache server. Any ideas?

Not sure if this is a bug. But I’ve got several dashboards and I want to set different dates for each of them. Matomo only allows me one selection for all dashboards though.

After having succesfully installed different tags and triggers, I wanted to instal some goals.
Though, when I link these goals to events, they don’t record any data.
I’ve tried a lot of different variations in events, names, categories etc.
Next to connecting goals to tags, the goals connected to URL’s don’t seem to work either…
Is there someone who could help me with this? Do I have to change something in the configuration or anything?
